Little Gecko
I have a new lodger. S/he's so new, I could take flash photos without him/her scurrying away.
No survival instincts yet, I guess. S/he will grow into a bit fat gecko with my ant population.
Whenever I see ants gathered around like this I think of cattle at a watering hole. I think the sinister element comes in when you reflect that the sweet sticky treasure they've found is laced with borax. They're so content, but they're about to die... I feel like I've committed a crime whenever I put it out, but I've just had the biggest explosion in ant population and they keep coming back after only a few days. It must be ideal conditions for ants in my neighbourhood at the mo'.
Little gecko is cute. I also have big gecko who provides no end of entertainment for me as s/he catches the tiny flying creatures that are attracted to the lamp light.

Gecko is indeed devastatingly cute. It's the big eyes, perhaps? The skinks down south can't compete.
I also like its little webby feet.
